SYNOPSIS: In the 1930s, workers and specialists from Germany,
Britain and the US, hit by economic crisis, flocked
to Stalin's Soviet Union. Siberian winters and constant
surveillance aside, they led privileged expat lives
until they started being sent to Gulags.
This story follows my grandfather's journey.
